**Key Responsibilities**


The Clinical Nursing Supervisor is accountable for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of patient care services by executing and managing the following responsibilities of the nursing team.

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor delivers comprehensive medical care and treatment to patients under the supervision of a physician.

  • Maintain an active State Registered Nursing license.
  • Recruit, schedule, assign, and assess nursing personnel, modifying hours and shifts as required.
  • Supervise, mentor, and ensure continuous clinical and professional development of nursing staff.
  • Guarantee adherence to all clinical protocols.
  • Facilitate orientation for new nursing personnel and ensure that their training and educational needs are addressed.
  • Coordinate patient care initiatives and manage the work assignments of team members.
  • Assess nursing staff activities to ensure high-quality patient care, positive staff relations, and service efficiency.
  • Conduct antenatal assessments and communicate all findings to physicians while documenting in the patient's medical record.
  • Support physicians during prenatal examinations and visits.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, ensuring proper labeling and dispatch of specimens to the relevant laboratories.
  • Schedule patients for surgical procedures, labor and delivery, or the antenatal unit as directed by the physician.
  • Provide telephone triage and accurately document all interactions with patients, physicians, and other contacts.
  • Perform venipuncture and administer medications as necessary, adhering to universal precautions and documenting appropriately in the patient's medical record.
  • Engage in revenue cycle management by ensuring authorizations and referrals are secured and informing the Billing Associate of any additional authorization needs.
  • Accurately document CPT and ICD-9 codes for services rendered.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Recognize ethical, legal, and professional considerations in providing care to pregnant patients in the perinatal center.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously, demonstrating a compassionate approach toward patients and their families.
  • Treat all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
  • Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, acknowledging individual religious, ethical, and moral beliefs.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction standards as one measure of effectiveness.
  • Oversee compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations, conduct regular training, and perform audits.
  • Understand and enforce departmental and corporate policies.
  • Participate in relevant departmental and organizational committees.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of patient care guidelines and protocols.
  • Ensure effective recall systems are established and utilized to provide the highest quality of patient care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.
**Qualifications**

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Possession of a valid state RN License.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in an office-based practice.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
