Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Disability Advocate Assistant to join our team at Residential Services, Inc.

About the Role

As an IHSW, you will work collaboratively with individuals and their support teams to implement personalized support plans that promote independence in various areas such as physical and personal needs, communication, household management, community living/mobility, reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior, sensory/motor development, socialization, vocational and educational, health, and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote independence
  • Provide physical and personal care support to individuals with disabilities
  • Help individuals communicate effectively and express their needs
  • Support individuals in managing household chores and daily activities
  • Assist individuals in developing skills for community living and mobility
  • Implement plans to reduce or eliminate maladaptive behaviors
  • Support individuals in sensory and motor development, socialization, vocational and educational, health, and wellness

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions and a working vehicle
  • A two-year degree in a behavioral science or related field preferred OR one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • To pass a post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report check
