Key Responsibilities- Perform moderately complex and specialized patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a clinician or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act as a patient advocate in the coordination and delivery of quality patient care
- Maintain patients' dignity by protecting patients' rights to privacy, confidentiality, and safety
- Work as a team with all ancillary services to expedite and coordinate patient care
- Direct patient to proper exam/treatment area and prepare patient for examinations and other procedures
- Obtain records and reports vital signs and any other pertinent patient information to the RN or clinician
- Administer medication safely, accurately and in accordance with the state of California licensure
- Perform various patient tests, and instruct patients on procedural preparations under the supervision of the clinician or RN
- Maintain and clean exam/treatment areas and medical equipment
- Assist physician and patient with insurance authorizations by proper form initiation, correct CPT& ICD-10 coding, computer data entry, phone calls, interfacing professionally with HMO and Billing Office, faxes, and letters as relates and is appropriate
- Notify pharmacies of new prescriptions and authorizations of new refills as ordered by the clinician
- Collect, label, and transport various specimens to appropriate destinations
- Maintain logs, records of medical procedures, and inventories of supplies
- Answer telephone calls, taking messages, referring calls to the doctor or licensed nurse as appropriate
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program
- Current LVN licensure to practice in California
- I.V. therapy and phlebotomy certification
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross), PALS, and ACLS
- 1+ years of experience working as an LVN/LPN
- Experience working in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
- Bilingual- English/Spanish
