Aspirus Wausau Hospital is currently seeking a Medical Physics Assistant to become a vital part of our dedicated team.
The Medical Physics Assistant (MPA) is a professional who has successfully completed relevant educational programs and has gained practical clinical knowledge in medical physics through specialized training and competency assessments under the guidance of a Clinical Medical Physicist and Chief Medical Physicist.
Key Responsibilities:
The MPA plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards in the planning, optimization, delivery, and evaluation of radiation therapy. This includes:
- Ensuring the precise and consistent operation of radiological equipment.
- Verifying the accuracy and adequacy of treatment plans and dose calculations.
The MPA operates under the supervision of the Clinical Medical Physicist and Chief Medical Physicist, contributing to the professional practice of therapeutic medical physics.
Work Schedule:
This is a Full-Time position (1.0 FTE), requiring 80 hours every two weeks. Primarily day shifts, with flexibility to cover nights and weekends as necessary.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in physics, medical physics, biophysics, radiological physics, medical health physics, or a related field from an accredited institution. Additional certifications in relevant specialties such as radiation therapy, radiology, nuclear medicine, or health physics are advantageous.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital serves as the flagship facility of the Aspirus health system, which provides care across 14 counties in northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
