About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist Staff with expertise in Radar Systems Engineering to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team, you will play a critical role in supporting ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, refine, and develop radar processing algorithms to enhance system performance.
  • Develop models and detailed simulations to predict and assess system performance, ensuring optimal results.
  • Lead radar algorithm design, including software specification definition, to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Perform mode development for AMTI, GMTI, SAR, and HRR, ensuring seamless integration with radar systems.
  • Interface with radar system suppliers to discuss system capabilities and conduct test and analysis, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Collaborate with research scientists, FPGA engineers, and software engineers to develop, test, and deliver prototype and fully capable systems.
  • Possibly work on AI/ML algorithm applications to drive cutting-edge innovation.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in MatLab and another programming language (i.e., C++, Python).
  • Experience with radar systems and algorithms, with a strong understanding of radar modes, mode development/analysis, and data collection methodologies.
  • Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience, with a focus on radar processing schemes.
  • Strong experience in software design and development, with proficiency in C++ &/or Python.
  • Knowledge of monostatic, bistatic, and multistatic radar processing schemes, with experience in active electronically scanned array (AESA) systems.
  • Familiarity with tracking &/or signal processing algorithms, with experience in machine learning pipelines for radar systems.
  • Experience with software version control such as GIT, with a background in Linux OS development.
Security Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance, and applicants must be US Citizens for consideration. The clearance level required is TS/SCI.
