Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Prosecutor to join our team in the Berkshire District Attorney's Office. As a key member of our District Court Prosecution team, you will be responsible for prosecuting all aspects of criminal cases in primary and jury sessions of the three divisions of District Court in Berkshire County.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute all aspects of criminal cases, including reviewing police reports and charging decisions, handling arraignments, and providing mandatory discovery to defendants/defense counsel.
• Handle pre-trial motions, evidentiary and non-evidentiary motions to suppress, and dismiss, and prepare written memoranda and briefs as needed.
• Review case files, applicable statutes and case law, victim information and input, and determine an appropriate recommendation for case resolution.
• Handle case resolution by way of plea, bench or jury trial, and follow the mandates of the Victim's Bill of Rights.
• Collaborate with other prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to ensure effective and efficient prosecution of cases.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in the Massachusetts Bar, pending application to the Mass Bar, or SJC rule 3:03 certification.

• A competitive salary range of $75,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience.
