Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Trades Specialist to join our team at StateJobsNY. As an Electrical Trades Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical fixtures, motors, and components in accordance with specifications and electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system malfunctions.
  • Test electrical equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Inspect circuits and wiring, and perform necessary rewiring of systems.
  • Supervise and train subordinate staff in the proper use of electrical equipment and tools.
  • Maintain shop machinery and equipment to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Operate light trucks, passenger vehicles, and other equipment as required.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment, and make recommendations for repairs or replacements.
  • Interpret and follow architectural blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
Requirements
  • Four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled tradesperson, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Successful completion of a two-year electrical training program or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
  • Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
  • Class A or B CDL preferred.
