We are seeking a highly skilled mechanical engineer to join our team in Palm Bay, FL. As a Sr Specialist, Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and qualifying/testing complex mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware
  • Perform process design, development, and qualification/testing tasks
  • Own larger aspects of the system and be flexible with tasking as the program evolves
  • Provide technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly/integration and testing
  • Work independently and within a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customer representatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI clearance
  • 4+ years experience developing complex mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware
  • Understanding and utilization of ASME Y14.5 standards
Preferred Skills:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Favorable polygraph
  • Experience in design or development of precision mechanisms and mechatronic systems
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo
  • Experience in additive manufacturing, part optimization, and design for manufacture and assembly
