Underwriting Internship

As an intern at Zurich North America, you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of underwriting. You'll work on real projects that make a difference for customers, colleagues, and communities.
Our underwriting internship program provides a comprehensive learning experience, where you'll develop skills in insurance underwriting basics, relationship management, organizational skills, presentation skills, collaboration skills, and time management skills.
You'll work closely with our experienced underwriters and mentors to learn the ins and outs of the industry. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in community impact projects, mentorship, and networking activities.
Responsibilities- Underwriting basics – You'll learn what an underwriter does by topic
- Basic business unit financial reporting
- Financial reports for upcoming meetings through UW Desktop and Power BI
- Pipeline management
- Preparation and participation in presentations and stewardship meetings
- Loss summary review and inputs
- Attending a broker meeting with Mentor
- Insurance underwriting basics
- Relationship management
- Organizational skills
- Presentation skills
- Collaboration skills
- Time management skills
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program in the fall semester following the internship
- Must be a rising junior or rising senior at the time of the internship
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
