Key Responsibilities
  1. Product Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and present high-quality meat and seafood products to meet customer expectations.
  2. Customer Service: Provide World Class customer service and a pleasant shopping experience in both the meat and seafood areas.
  3. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels and order products as needed to meet customer demand.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Operate, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Big Y employees to achieve operational and sales goals.
  6. Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to colleagues as needed to ensure product knowledge and expertise.
  7. Special Requests: Process special customer requests, including special cuts of meats and seafood as necessary.
  8. Supply Management: Maintain supplies and identify all cuts of meat and seafood.
  9. Store Maintenance: Maintain proper department conditions, including the sales floor, backroom, freezer, and cooler.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Engage in and encourage continuous improvement through ideas and innovation.
Requirements
  1. Previous Experience: Previous experience in perishable foods handling and/or preparation is preferred.
  2. Representing Big Y: Ability to represent Big Y's A Culture of Caring and The Pursuit of Excellence through the support of Big Y's Mission & Vision.
  3. Communication Skills: Ability to demonstrate a passion for food through interactive sales techniques.
  4. Teamwork: Must be a team player with a positive attitude and businesslike conduct.
  5. Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store.
  6. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to prioritize and follow-through.
  7. Computer Skills: Ability to learn and utilize computer applications.
  8. Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age.
