Job Title: Spaceport Mixologist

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Spaceport Mixologist, you'll be an integral part of our Starbase Hospitality team, serving our employees, customers, and partners with exceptional beverage experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with our team to meet time and quality standards
  • Execute detailed services, timelines, and schedules with precision
  • Adhere to proper food safety practices to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Facilitate effective communication between team members and leadership
  • Fill in for different front-of-house roles as needed, showcasing your versatility and adaptability
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to our high standards
  • Assist in organizing and cleaning service equipment and bar areas
  • Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of services and events
  • Understand and participate in the training of all Hospitality roles and responsibilities
  • Exercise strong customer service and communication skills to deliver exceptional experiences
  • Execute catering and event requests with precision and attention to detail
  • Maintain service by anticipating guests' needs and exceeding their expectations
  • Adhere to proper safety guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Showcase advanced knowledge of wine and beverage service, as well as food ingredients, preparations, and styles
  • Clearly communicate frequently changing menu items to our guests
  • Follow guidelines concerning the service and safety of our guests
  • Prepare drinks, including handcrafted cocktail options, ensuring consistency and compliance with recipe, portioning, and waste control guidelines
  • Ensure assigned station is stocked and clean, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of all work areas and equipment
  • Maintain proper inventory levels for all team products
  • Communicate directly with vendors for order placement or any subsequent issues with deliveries or product quality
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of experience in mixology or cocktail preparation
  • 5+ years of industry experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 7+ years of food service experience in customer service roles
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Experience working in large team settings
  • Experience in all areas of restaurant and event service, including bartending, serving, and porting
  • Experience preparing handcrafted cocktails in a resort/hotel environment
  • Experience pairing drinks with themed menus
  • High volume experience
  • People leader skills
  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and extreme attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively, including training of incoming team members
  • Ability to work gracefully under pressure
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work with hands continuously, including chopping, stirring, scraping, and scrubbing
  • Ability to carry large heavy items unassisted (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time - up to 10 hours a day
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must participate in internal leadership and development training
  • Previous bartending experience is a must
  • Valid Texas Food Handler and TABC Certification or willingness to obtain them before employment
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range:
Mixologist/Level 1: $20.00/hour
Mixologist/Level 2: $22.50/hour
Mixologist/Level 3: $25.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
