Overview

Pavilion 8, a state-of-the-art intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms, is committed to delivering extraordinary patient care. Our surgical services include ENT, Vascular, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Urology.

Our leadership structure, comprising a clinical director, assistant clinical director, clinical nurse managers, and clinical educator, is dedicated to supporting our staff and ensuring patient safety.

Pavilion 8 is supported by our unit secretaries, critical care technicians, and registered nurses seven days a week. We strive to have all our nurses cross-trained in surgical intermediate within the first year at Cooper.

We foster a close relationship with our providers, with APNs and Surgical Residents easily accessible for support, questions, and guidance with patient care.

Job Summary

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They supervise and provide care to these patients using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate openly with internal customers and supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
  • Apply Cooper core values.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing.

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers).
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS).
