Job Overview

Position Summary:
A collaborative individual who demonstrates initiative in effectively managing the daily tasks associated with the reception and dispatch of corn, ethanol, and related commodities for the facility.


Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Location: Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the facility.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of systems and equipment related to corn, Dried Distiller Grains with Solubles (DDGS), Modified Distiller Grains with Solubles (MDGS), and ethanol loading/unloading.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, regarding operational and maintenance concerns to the Yard Operations Coordinator, Maintenance, and other relevant personnel.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to skid steers, front-end loaders, telehandlers, and rail movers for loading and site maintenance tasks.
  • Safely drive motorized vehicles on-site for the loading and unloading of railcars, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Accurately gather and report data on weights and grades.
  • Facilitate the movement of railcars on sidings using mobile rail switching units or locomotives to support loading and unloading activities.
  • Provide assistance to Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, and other plant staff as required.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Understanding of raw materials, production methodologies, quality assurance, cost management, and techniques for optimizing the manufacturing and distribution processes.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on effective report writing.
  • Ability to adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation.
  • Effective organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to foster a collaborative team environment that encourages open dialogue and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in grain handling or a certification in Power and Process Technology or a related technical field is advantageous.

Additional Information:

  • Shift work is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to operate motorized vehicles safely.
  • Compensation range: up to $40.65 per hour, based on experience.
