Job Title: Therapy Medical Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Therapy Medical Physicist to join our team at Gables Search Group in Kansas City, KS. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-trained and compassionate professional in Radiation Oncology to contribute to exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular radiation measurements and calibrations on treatment units to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor Radiation Oncology Department equipment to guarantee proper and safe function.
  • Manage and submit regulatory records and reports in a timely manner.
  • Supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions and analyze alternative treatment plans to optimize patient care.
  • Implement assessments and treatments based on patients' developmental stages, taking into account their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and contribute to the success of the department.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility through a CAMPEP-accredited residency in therapy physics.
  • 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and implement them in clinical practice.
  • Strong initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond for clients and colleagues to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop viable solutions to complex challenges.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate and move medical equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying are required to perform job duties.
  • Exposure to radiation and other conditions typical of a radiation therapy setting.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support the team and meet patient needs.
