Primary Responsibilities:

  • Processes and manages maintenance work orders efficiently.
  • Adheres to safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains a set of essential hand tools for daily repair tasks.
  • Inspects mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, employing testing instruments and schematics to identify issues.
  • Evaluates the most effective repair or replacement methods and gathers necessary tools for the task.
  • Disassembles machinery as required to access and address malfunctioning components.
  • Assesses parts for damage and determines the need for repair or replacement.
  • Utilizes hand and power tools for repairs or procures replacement parts from inventory.
  • Reassembles machinery and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
  • Monitors equipment post-repair to confirm successful resolution of issues.
  • Cleans the work area and organizes tools and materials after completing tasks.
  • Fabricates necessary items such as racks and tables as needed.
  • Operates machine shop equipment including drills, lathes, and welders.
  • Engages in design work for special projects and initiates requisitions for materials.
  • Completes preventative maintenance tasks and reports any equipment malfunctions.
  • Assists in the installation of new machinery as directed by engineering and management.
  • Supports the training of junior technicians.
  • Ensures that tools and equipment are maintained in an organized and functional state.
  • Conducts regular inspections as scheduled through the maintenance management system.
  • Keeps accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance technician role is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
