About the Role

Sysco is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our diesel fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel fleet vehicles, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Conduct quality control checks on all maintenance and repair work to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective fleet maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve fleet maintenance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in diesel fleet maintenance and repair.
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred).
  • EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC Refrigeration Certification.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Annual Inspector Certification.
  • Brake Inspector Certification.
  • Expert knowledge of all vehicle systems and components.
  • Expert knowledge of diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of diagnosis and repair of refrigeration systems.
  • Moderate knowledge of welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).
  • Moderate computer skills and knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Moderate knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Moderate knowledge of environmental regulations.
Working Conditions

The Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and physical demands of the job. The associate will be required to work non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
