Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Thousand Oaks, CA. This position involves working with students to assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for speech and language disorders, helping them develop essential communication skills and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities to identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for each student based on assessments and IEPs.
  • Speech Therapy Services: Provide speech therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, to help them develop effective communication skills.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to support students' learning and development, and communicate effectively with them to ensure student progress.
  • Progress Monitoring: Document student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure goal achievement.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid California SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
