Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans for mechanical systems, including estimating and cost planning.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate cost risks, and develop strategies to optimize project costs.
  • Prepare and present cost reports to clients, including monthly post-contract cost reports.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and procurement reports, and assist in the development of bid lists and bid analysis.
  • Manage procurement processes, including pre-qualification, bid analysis, and contract document compilation.
  • Lead cost management teams and ensure timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and negotiate final accounts with clients.
  • Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants throughout project stages.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account management.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction methods.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Navisworks, or other related software.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work as part of a team.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with business development and identifying opportunities for new business growth.
Education and Experience
  • Experience preparing mechanical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing mechanical or MEP estimates on large-scale data center, high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate, or relatable construction projects.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems and construction methods.
