The Security Personnel Advisor (HSPD-12) offers personnel and administrative support services for the Homeland Security Directive-12 (HSPD-12) offices within Amentum's Federal Protective Services (FPS), Personnel Security Division (PSD).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Initiate and oversee background investigations.
2. Manage the collection of security documents from contractor applicants.
3. Conduct fingerprinting procedures as required.
4. Initiate contact with personal references and previous employers for pre-employment suitability assessments.
5. Verify the necessary level of background investigation and ensure all documents for suitability processing are complete and included in individual files.
6. Operate various office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and phone systems.7. Prepare, submit, monitor, and update tracking systems related to case materials.
8. Serve as a resource for staff regarding the monitoring and maintenance of case materials.
9. Provide research and technical support for various projects.
10. Process requests for Personal Verification Cards in accordance with HSPD-12 guidelines.
11. Review eQIP and related forms for accuracy and completeness, offering technical assistance to applicants.
12. Respond to incoming communications effectively.
13. Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is necessary, including experience in one or more standard security and/or intelligence fields (e.g., technical, physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operational security).
Preferred candidates will have subject matter expertise and practical experience in security and/or intelligence disciplines, along with experience in implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs and policies.
Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities are essential.Proficiency in various information technology applications, such as Microsoft Office (including MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint), is required.
Familiarity with ISMS, eQIP, CVS, and/or DISS is advantageous but not mandatory.Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
