Your expertise, knowledge, and exceptional skills will assist BHN in the following areas:
- Delivering direct care within the defined scope of practice to effectively execute patients' care plans.
- Overseeing the self-administration of physical and psychiatric medications, along with monitoring the health of residents and the milieu staff responsible for medication management.
- Administering detoxification medications in line with established protocols and physician orders.
- Educating individuals about their conditions, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Gathering data related to the status and needs of individuals served.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of individuals' information at all times, adhering to 42 CFR regulations.
The New View program at BHN provides services to female-identified patients who have been civilly committed through legal proceedings to a designated facility for substance use disorder treatment. The program encompasses acute treatment services (ATS) and clinical stabilization services (CSS).

- Degree or diploma in Nursing (mandatory).
- Active Nursing License from the Massachusetts Board of Registration as a Practical Nurse (mandatory).
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience (preferred).

- Collaborative skills to work with other healthcare providers.
- Capability to delegate tasks to peers and other caregivers according to their expertise.
- Understanding of utilization and review standards and their implementation.
- Advocacy skills for individuals served.
- Empathy and understanding when working with individuals facing addiction, including those with co-occurring disorders.
- Knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to substance abuse treatment.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and CARF standards.
