Program Details

  • Ten-week paid internship: Monday, June 2, 2025 - Friday, August 8, 2025
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Hourly rate: $30 per hour
  • Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Support and perform actuarial analyses for various lines of business, including medical expense analyses and projections, health insurance market intelligence research and analyses, product pricing and state rate filing support, data, and actuarial modeling.
  • Present statistical information to support actuarial, underwriting, and other business areas regarding the pricing of plans, product development, and marketing planning.
  • Administer finalized policies, monitor results, and provide feedback as needed.
  • Collect and compile statistical data for additional analysis.
  • Estimate the probability and likely cost of sickness, treatment, and medical services.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or a related finance/business degree required.
  • Must be currently a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate or 1st year graduate student.
  • Completion of or candidate working towards completion of actuarial exam(s) preferred.
  • 0 - 1+ years of relevant, professional work experience and/or education required.
  • Understanding of actuarial principles and methodologies with strong mathematical and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver complex information to a diverse audience required.
  • Capable with Excel, data extraction, simulations, automation required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Exposure to SQL, SAS, Python or similar preferred.
