Key Responsibilities:
The Asphalt Utility Material Handler plays a vital role in the safe transfer of materials and unloading processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. This position is crucial for the continuous improvement of our plant's performance metrics, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in safety training and participating in quality and maintenance programs.
- Operating various equipment for unloading and loading materials, including Flatbed, Tanker Truck, Railcar, and Barge.
- Handling administrative tasks such as data entry, processing bills of lading, and maintaining organization.
- Gaining certification to operate all relevant Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE).
- Assisting Operations as needed to meet customer expectations.
- Exhibiting reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to process improvement.
- Understanding and following environmental regulations and recycling procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness at workstations throughout shifts.
- Performing duties on the rail line according to established procedures.
- Communicating essential information during shift changes.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma.
- Previous manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the responsibilities of the position.
Physical Requirements:
Essential physical capabilities for this role include:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to climb stairs and ladders as necessary.
- Performing repetitive movements and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Withstanding exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
