Key Responsibilities:

The Asphalt Utility Material Handler plays a vital role in the safe transfer of materials and unloading processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. This position is crucial for the continuous improvement of our plant's performance metrics, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in safety training and participating in quality and maintenance programs.
  • Operating various equipment for unloading and loading materials, including Flatbed, Tanker Truck, Railcar, and Barge.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as data entry, processing bills of lading, and maintaining organization.
  • Gaining certification to operate all relevant Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE).
  • Assisting Operations as needed to meet customer expectations.
  • Exhibiting reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to process improvement.
  • Understanding and following environmental regulations and recycling procedures.
  • Maintaining cleanliness at workstations throughout shifts.
  • Performing duties on the rail line according to established procedures.
  • Communicating essential information during shift changes.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the responsibilities of the position.

Physical Requirements:

Essential physical capabilities for this role include:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders as necessary.
  • Performing repetitive movements and lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Withstanding exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
