Overview

The Multimedia Systems Engineer ensures that both internal and external AV hardware and software align with client specifications, establishing themselves as the primary authority on AV systems.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative individual capable of functioning across multiple disciplines with independence. They are integral from the initial concept to the final project delivery, working alongside clients, project managers, and field installation teams to provide exceptional solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on AV hardware and software integration with our digital signage solutions, emphasizing AV protocols and industry standards.
  • Design and integrate advanced audio and video equipment to enhance our digital signage capabilities, ensuring compatibility with client requirements.
  • Meticulously document system integration specifics, including schematic diagrams, cable schedules, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to diagnose and resolve AV hardware and software challenges while ensuring system diagnostics and configuration are optimal.
  • Set up and operate video cameras and audio equipment, managing troubleshooting processes for AV and networking devices.
  • Provide expertise on AV equipment storage, assembly, and disassembly, maintaining current documentation such as user manuals and installation guides.
  • Engage and collaborate with engineering teams across the organization.

Requirements

  • Knowledge or experience in communication hardware and software.
  • Proficiency in AV equipment setup and operation.
  • Expertise in audio and video signal flow control and routing.
  • Understanding of AV technologies and IT systems.
  • Current knowledge of AV equipment trends and features.
  • Familiarity with graphics, encoding, and video editing software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • 1+ years of experience in AV design, integration, or project management is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work full-time and travel for installations.

Education and Certifications

  • BS or AAS degree in relevant technical fields. Work experience as an AV Engineer may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • AVIXA or similar AV certification is a plus.
