Casual Speech Language Therapist

The Speech Language Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating a range of communication and swallowing disorders, including but not limited to conditions such as aphasia, voice issues, speech/language impairments, cognitive deficits from closed head injuries, fluency disorders (including stuttering), aural rehabilitation, and non-verbal communication (augmentative communication), as well as difficulties related to the oral and pharyngeal stages of swallowing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and recommend diagnostic assessments for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology services.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards, including maintaining professional licensure and certifications.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and provide speech therapy treatments to clients.
- Participate in staff meetings, development programs, and in-service training.
- Comply with organizational policies while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Maintain precise records of patient progress and therapy sessions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive demeanor towards all stakeholders.
- Collect comprehensive historical data for client assessments.
- Compile and present data to meet the needs of the Speech-Language Pathology Programs.
- Organize client evaluations, scheduling, and treatment plans to ensure high productivity and quality care.
- Possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology with relevant coursework and clinical experience.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR certification is required based on AHA standards, which includes both a theoretical and practical skills demonstration component.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
