Job Summary:The Licensed School Therapist will provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, as well as collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and contribute to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing interpersonal or family problems that interfere with school performance.
- Conduct interviews with students, family members, and school personnel to gather information required to assess student social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment.
- Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations in home life that may affect school performance.
- Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPs) as needed, adhering to company, school, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
- Attend and participate in IEP team meetings, facilitating as needed, and actively participating in other team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns.
- Collaborate with education and social services professionals to develop appropriate agency services for students and their families.
- Provide case management functions for students, including coordination of parent meetings, emergency transportation requests, disciplinary actions, and coordination with outside therapists.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, district personnel, and service providers to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems, establishing and maintaining effective public relations and projecting a positive company image.
- Ensure the use of positive teaching methods by conducting monthly climate data through direct observation of classroom staff's implementation of IEP goals and PBIPs.
- Provide guidance, consultation, and assistance to teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems, and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate curriculum, schedule, and services based on each student's IEP and other applicable goals.
- Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems and provide applicable training and guidance to classroom staff accordingly to address student needs.
- Function as a role model for effective teaching of students as well as for communication and problem-solving with staff, reinforcing the School's emphasis on behavior analytic, empirical approaches to education, the extensive use of data in decision-making, and the use of positive reinforcement to achieve maximum performance when working with students and co-workers.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in educational counseling, therapy, social work, or a closely related field.
- Master's degree in a related field preferred.
- Meet all state and district licensing and/or credential requirements.

- Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (DCSW)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker Psychotherapy (LCSW-R)
- Other state credential authorizing provision of school-based counseling may be considered in lieu of licensure.
- Prior experience working with students with emotional disorders and challenging behaviors in an education or classroom setting.
- Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
- Prior experience working with students in a special education program setting preferred.
