The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Associate to ensure our facilities are both functional and visually appealing. This role is essential to the mission of the Y, a prominent nonprofit organization focused on enhancing community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Facility Maintenance Associate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facilities and grounds, ensuring they are ready for use by members, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties across all areas of the building and surrounding grounds.
  • Tasks include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning windows and mirrors, as well as managing waste disposal.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by removing trash and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Assist with snow removal as needed.
  • Collect and dispose of soiled towels from locker rooms and other areas.
  • Manage laundry tasks for towels and mop heads during shifts.
  • Restock essential supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Follow proper safety protocols when handling cleaning agents, including the use of protective gear.
  • Maintain and care for cleaning equipment.
  • Respond to spills promptly with appropriate cleaning methods.
  • Support event preparations and clean-up efforts.
  • Engage with members, staff, and visitors in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Be flexible with shift assignments as required.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damage to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to adjust schedules to meet organizational needs.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Physically agile and dexterous.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and agents is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential.
