Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at the Alabama Community College System. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide technical assistance and network support to the entire academic and administrative areas in the campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain computer networks and personal computers.
  • Work with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Provide administrative, direct face-to-face, and campus-based technical support to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and recommend specifications for new hardware and software solutions.
  • Conduct training and support to end-users on accessing and utilizing computer resources and applications.
  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end-user workstation hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoots networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless.
  • Performs analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex IT problems for end-users.
  • Receives and responds to incoming support requests.
  • Maintains inventories of all IT-related hardware and software.
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring system performance.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
