We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant to join our team at Hatboro Horsham School District. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities- Implement student educational programs as outlined in IEPs and follow classroom schedules and routines.
- Communicate with teachers and other staff members to ensure students' ongoing needs are met.
- Provide advice and solutions to teachers and support staff on classroom-related issues.
- Document student information, including needs, strengths, gains, and problems.
- Follow behavior support plans and escort students to various activities.
- Supervise and support students during meals, gym, outdoor recess, and field trips.
- Assist students in inclusive regular education classes and modify instruction as directed.
- Oversee students while boarding and disembarking from school buses.
- Participate in IEP development and evaluation meetings, and attend training sessions as needed.
- Assist with administrative duties, such as recording grades and preparing materials.
- Promote a safe and orderly classroom environment and adhere to all ESS and intermediate unit policies.
- A minimum of 48 college credits or a high school diploma with Para Ed. Certification.
- Pennsylvania State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting.
- CPR, CPI, and First Aid Certification.
- School Health Form: Physical and Tuberculosis Test, and Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification.
