Job Title: Echo Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join our Cardiology Team at White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD.

Job Summary:

The Echo Technologist will be responsible for performing echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients, reviewing electronic medical records, and preparing patients for procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiac ultrasound principles and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients according to protocol
  • Review electronic medical records for pertinent history
  • Prepare patients for procedures, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs
  • Provide patient care in a safe and compassionate manner
  • Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  • Notify biomed of all equipment malfunctions
  • Notify supervisor of equipment and malfunctions
  • Assure that all patient charges can be accurately completed
  • Confirm that there is a correct order for all studies done
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program preferred
  • 1-2 year scanning experience preferred
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • RDMS or CCI certification within six months of hire preferred
Work Schedule:

Full Time Day Shift with on-call coverage.
