About the Department:

Porter Hospital is recognized as a Level III facility for Obstetrical Services and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ensuring comprehensive management of complex maternal and fetal conditions.

We proudly offer the region's first 24/7 Obstetric Emergency Department (OB ED), enhancing patient safety and care with the presence of board-certified obstetricians. Nurses in this department will provide care for patients facing:
  • Pre-term labor concerns
  • Pelvic discomfort
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Urological issues, including bladder infections
  • High-risk pregnancy complications (e.g., hypertension)
The OB unit collaborates closely with Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Postpartum departments. Candidates should be prepared to float between these areas as necessary and maintain the requisite skills for each.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required
  • Fetal monitoring training to be completed post-orientation
Experience:
  • Prior experience in maternal health services is preferred.
