Academic Professional

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Elementary School Educator to join our team at the Diocese of Gaylord. As an Elementary School Educator, you will be responsible for teaching all subjects to students in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

• Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Diocese of Gaylord curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards.
• Classroom Management: Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable learning environment for students.
• Student Engagement: Engage students in learning through best practice strategies and adapt teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with families of students and collaborate with other instructional colleagues to achieve academic goals.
• Professional Development: Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certification: Certified and/or approved for teaching by the State of Michigan Department of Education.
• Subject Endorsement: Hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.
• Professional Development: A desire to seek out professional development activities related to the latest instructional strategies.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with students and colleagues; willingness to be an active and enthusiastic member of the Catholic School community within the Diocese of Gaylord.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to see, hear, write, and speak clearly; ability to move quickly and handle a variety of emotions discretely while teaching.
