Critical Care Registered Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, develop plans of care, and implement and evaluate care.
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
- Document patient assessments, plans of care, and outcomes of nursing interventions.
- Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
- Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
- Perform venipuncture, administer and maintain IV fluids and IV medications.
- Review new physician orders, ensure orders are carried out and documented correctly, and notify other departments of orders and services.
- Notify the Charge Nurse and/or physician of changes in patient status.
- Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Charge Nurse and to the on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting.
- Recent critical care experience is preferred.
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification is preferred.
