Key Responsibilities- Teach philosophy classes to inmates using a variety of teaching methods and materials
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement educational programs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Master's degree in philosophy or a closely related field
- 18 graduate hours in philosophy or a closely related field
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Doctorate in philosophy degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Ability to understand teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process
- Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner
The successful candidate will work in a normal classroom setting with occasional travel required. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and seeing, with occasional sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 15 pounds.
