Position Overview

The role is situated within the Project Management Office of The Ladders, which is dedicated to providing comprehensive financial and administrative assistance for the management of various capacity development initiatives. This office plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s projects, ensuring effective utilization of resources and adherence to established guidelines. The incumbent will report to the Senior Finance Officer and work under the overall supervision of the Head of the Project Management Office.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Management Specialist will undertake the following responsibilities:
• Formulate, execute, and assess assigned projects; monitor and evaluate project development and execution; review pertinent documents and reports; identify challenges and propose solutions; engage with relevant stakeholders; ensure necessary follow-up actions.
• Conduct consulting assignments in collaboration with clients, facilitating workshops and interactive sessions, and assisting in the formulation of action plans for effective change management.
• Gather, analyze, and present information from a variety of sources.
• Coordinate the development of policies, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, and prepare evaluations or other research activities and studies.
• Organize and prepare written outputs, such as draft background papers, analyses, sections of reports and studies, and contributions to publications.
• Provide substantial support for consultative and other meetings, including proposing agenda items, identifying participants, and preparing documents and presentations.
• Initiate and coordinate outreach efforts; conduct training workshops, seminars, and presentations on assigned topics.
• Oversee activities related to budget funding, including project preparation and submissions, progress reports, and financial statements, while preparing related documents and reports.
• Manage and monitor extra-budgetary resources, ensuring compliance with regulations and established policies.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Competencies
• Professionalism: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, and approaches relevant to project management. Ability to identify issues, analyze, and contribute to problem resolution. Proficient in data collection and independent research.
• Accountability: Ownership of responsibilities and commitment to delivering outputs within specified timeframes and quality standards.
• Client Orientation: Ability to view clients' needs from their perspective and establish productive partnerships.

Qualifications
• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree with additional qualifying work experience may be accepted.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management, administration, budget, and finance is required. Experience in financial analysis and reporting is essential.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is desirable.
