Join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health as a Surgical Technician, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional experiences.
About the Role:As a Surgical Technician, you will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the operating room is safe and equipped for successful procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing the operating room and patient for surgery, setting up sterile equipment and instruments, and assisting with scrubbing and preparation of the sterile field.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the operating room and patient for surgery by applying principles and techniques of asepsis
- Set up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes, and solutions
- Assist with scrubbing, preparation of sterile field, gowning/gloving members of the surgical team
- Provide safe handling and care for instruments and specimens
- Operate sterilization devices, including autoclaves and other types of sterilizers
- Graduation from a surgical technology program accredited through ARC-ST
- Successful completion of formal on-the-job training and Tech in Surgery Certification through the National Center for Competency Testing
- Registration with the State of Washington (if classified as Surgical Technician)
- Current certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists (if classified as Surgical Technician, Certified)
