We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Banquet Houseperson to join our team at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa. As a Banquet Houseperson, you will be responsible for setting up meeting rooms, audio visual equipment, and private events in accordance with the banquet event order specifications.

• Set up and break down rooms in compliance with scheduled times and department procedures.
• Polish plates, glassware, and set up cooking equipment, buffet, and coffee breaks.
• Assist with audio visual equipment setup and troubleshooting.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of storage and service areas.
• Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follow Health and Safety practices at all times.
• Actively participate in Safety Programs and abide by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements.
• Participate in and support hotel efforts towards community service, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.

• Familiar with audio-visual equipment use, set-up, and troubleshooting.
• Valid San Diego County Food Handlers Card.
• Ability to respond quickly to last-minute changes.
• Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests, and staff to their understanding.
• Desirable: Experience in a high-volume banquet 4 or 5-star resort environment (AAA, Mobil, Relais & Chateaux, or other highly rated).
• High school graduate or GED-equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in other languages.
• Prior training in guest relations.

Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.

Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.

Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.

Lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.

$16.00/hourly, Medical, Dental, 401K
