Job Title: Caregiver

Regency Retirement Village of Jackson is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Caregiver is responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their health, welfare, safety, and independence. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, transfers, and ambulation.
  • Encourage residents to participate in planned activities and provide support as needed.
  • Participate in setting up the dining room, serving meals, and assisting residents during mealtime.
  • Provide laundry services as directed or as needed by residents.
  • Clean resident rooms on a weekly basis, including vacuuming, sweeping, and sanitizing.
  • Practice safety procedures and report incidents, accidents, and injuries to associates or residents.
  • Complete all training and orientation requirements and attend in-service training as outlined by State regulations and policies.
  • Report changes in resident status immediately to the charge nurse.
  • Maintain local and state certification, if applicable.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Clock in and out on time cards, following the six-minute rule.
  • Follow instructions and supervision from shift supervisors and adhere to the chain of command.
  • Call in to allow shifts to be filled if needed, two hours prior to the start time.
  • Follow resident rights and report any employee misconduct.
  • Understand the facility is awake and alert at all times for resident safety.
  • Understand refusing to perform assigned tasks may result in termination.
  • Be prepared to stay extra time or overnight in winter months to care for residents during disasters.
  • Respond to emergency calls during disasters, fires, or evacuations.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, pushing, and walking.
  • Lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Operate standard housekeeping equipment, such as vacuums and mops.
Mental Demands:
  • Be alert and attentive to detail.
  • Read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Make positive decisions and show good judgment.
  • Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Environment:
  • Be exposed to hazardous chemicals and infectious substances.
  • Be prepared for inclement winter weather conditions.
