About the Role
The Head of Product - Zelle is a critical leadership position at Early Warning, responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and product execution for Zelle. This role will set the direction, tone, performance, and culture for the Zelle product organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Foster internal and external alignment on product strategy and execution, influencing cross-functional partners to solve customer problems and directly impacting EWS and customer executives with vision, strategy, and product plans.
- Product Development and Management: Develop and implement methodologies, tools, and processes to deliver new features and manage existing products, contributing to the practice of product management at EWS. Understand and articulate consumer pain points, defining innovative solutions that delight consumers, merchants, and financial institutions.
- Customer Partnership & Alignment: Hold the product team accountable for demonstrating a deep understanding of customer problems and pain points, focusing on gaining insights into customer needs by discovering and solving unmet needs.
- Driving Team Outcomes: Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, design, and engineering teams to drive strong go-to-market strategies and achieve product usage goals. Build, align, and motivate the product team to work cross-functionally to deliver a great consumer experience and outstanding business outcomes for all Zelle stakeholders.
- Performance Focused: Lead and develop highly engaged, high-performance teams, mentoring team members and working independently with high energy and urgency.
- Risk Management: Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
- Team Development: Build out the team and hire for expertise to create an appropriately skilled team with the right capacity to deliver the Zelle roadmap.
Requirements
- Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., engineering, math, operations research) or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 15 or more years of experience in the consumer payments market, with a preference for network and/or P2P experience.
- Proven experience in building and delivering successful products, demonstrated experience in setting a product strategy, roadmap, and successfully meeting product targets.
- Demonstrated experience in using operating metrics, data, and analytics to define and test growth strategies.
- Prior experience working with marketing, UX, engineering, risk, legal, and compliance in a seamless cross-functional construct.
- Demonstrated experience in design thinking and agile development process and methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and cross-functional collaboration experience, including direct management experience.
- Experience in recruiting and developing talent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters' degree in a quantitative field.
Physical Requirements
Early Warning works together in a highly collaborative office environment. Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
