Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Renal Med Surg Registered Nurse to join our team at Mission Hospital. As a Renal Med Surg Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with varying stages of renal disease, including chronic kidney disease, acute renal failure, and end-stage renal disease.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in patients' medical records.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patients' requests, proactively anticipating patients' needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about patients' medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
  • One year of RN experience.
  • Preferred experience: One year hospital nursing experience.
  • Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire date into RN position.
  • Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing.
  • Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Required Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider.
  • Preferred Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty.
