Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in New Britain, CT. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  • Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately into computer systems and maintain all necessary logs and records.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
