Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will take charge of accounting leadership and provide essential guidance to the accounting team and operational functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with Coeur's accounting policies and adherence to internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee finance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead monthly and annual reviews of assigned cost areas, collaborating with managers for issue resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with operational plans.
  • Review and monitor balance sheet and income statement accounts to meet internal audit requirements.
  • Manage month-end processes, including cost reviews, journal entries, reconciliations, and self-assessments for accuracy.
  • Handle monthly accounting for revenue, inventory, and cost of sales, providing thorough analysis.
  • Facilitate effective communication with site personnel for accurate cost reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cost reporting quality.
  • Maintain accounting records in compliance with internal control standards.
  • Lead the finance team in capital reporting and accounts payable oversight.
  • Advise management on control revisions and implement additional controls as necessary.
  • Act as a key member during internal and external audits.
  • Guide site accounting to clarify complex monthly closing journal entries.
  • Engage with vendors for account statement reviews and issue resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Experience in mining, oil and gas, or heavy industrial sectors is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Oracle and Vena is a plus.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
