Lead Day Habilitation Specialist

At Adults & Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc., we are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Lead Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our participants.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene and transportation, to promote independence and dignity.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in the OPWDD field, with a preference for ACLD experience.
  • Complete required training in SCIP, CPR, First Aid, and AED within 90 days of hire, and maintain certification.
  • Obtain AMAP certification within 180 days of hire and maintain it.
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring individuals, as needed.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Clean, valid NYS driver's license.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:45pm, with 38.75 hours per week.

Some programs may offer a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
