Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $25,000 to $30,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We seek students for full-time internships in research and development at our Indianapolis or Newark locations. As a Chemical Research Development Specialist, you will work closely with a senior scientist, participate in research planning, preparation, calibration, application, evaluation, and analysis, and present project reviews and a final poster to colleagues and peers.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and develop new technologies in analytical chemistry, environmental fate/environmental exposure & assessment, and organic chemistry.
  • Work safely and embody Corteva's safety culture.
  • Demonstrate independent and creative thinking by making novel observations, interpreting data, and drawing sound scientific conclusions.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline, such as analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, or organic chemistry.
  • Completed at least three years of undergraduate work before the start of the internship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Relocate to Indianapolis or Newark for the duration of the internship.
  • Work full-time (40 hours per week) for a 6-month period.

Area-Specific Qualifications
  • Analytical Chemistry: Successfully completed two full years of undergraduate-level chemistry or related curriculum.
  • Environmental Fate/Environmental Exposure & Assessment: Focus in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, and/or organic chemistry.
  • Organic Chemistry: Successfully completed at least four years of undergraduate-level organic/analytical chemistry curriculum.
