Position Overview


The Clinical Dietitian at Tanner Medical Center collaborates with a diverse healthcare team to deliver patient-centered nutrition care that aligns with the overall medical objectives.

Key responsibilities encompass the implementation of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), which includes conducting thorough nutrition assessments, identifying nutrition diagnoses, formulating and executing nutrition interventions, and tracking and evaluating patient outcomes.

This role utilizes the Scope of Dietetics Practice Framework (SODPF) to guide practice, adhering to established Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (SOP/SOPP) in nutrition care. The Clinical Dietitian also employs evidence-based protocols and guidelines to inform nutrition interventions.

In addition, the Clinical Dietitian plays a crucial role in resource management, ensuring cost-effective practices while participating in compliance and quality improvement initiatives to guarantee safe and effective nutrition care.

As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Dietitian engages in team meetings, provides educational sessions on food and nutrition, and contributes to the formulation and revision of institutional policies.

Furthermore, the Clinical Dietitian may engage in community nutrition initiatives and is committed to maintaining the professional competencies and skills necessary for effective practice.


Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

Licenses and Certifications

*Licensed Dietitian

*Registered Dietitian

Essential Qualifications

*Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical scenarios.

*Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and staff.

*Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.

*Skilled in drafting letters, summaries, and reports.

*Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.

*Successful completion of 900 hours of supervised practice from an accredited CDR program is necessary.

*Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the State of Georgia Licensed Dietitian status is required throughout employment.
