We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Binding Technician to join our team in Sheridan, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality results.

Job Summary

As a Binding Technician, you will play a vital role in the production process by assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art Perfect Binder. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring the quality of bound products throughout the entire binding cycle.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborate with Lead Binding Operators to efficiently set up the binder according to specific job requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Perfect Binder, ensuring its optimal performance.
  • Conduct meticulous inspections of bound products at various stages of the process to guarantee adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage paperwork and documentation related to each binding project.
  • Provide support to pocket feeders by assisting with feeding pockets as needed.
  • Assist in preparing ancillary equipment for production runs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Interpret job tickets, work orders, and other relevant documents to understand specific binding instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Binding Operator to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Understand and fulfill customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Strive to meet or exceed production goals in terms of make-readies, speeds, waste reduction, and overall efficiency.
  • Utilize various tools, including wrenches, gauges, and tape measures, for equipment maintenance and adjustments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify when additional repairs are required.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by assisting colleagues as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Demonstrate dependability, reliability, and responsibility in fulfilling assigned tasks.
  • Possess the ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions effectively.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be adaptable and open to change when necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Possess initiative and self-motivation to complete projects independently.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Be eligible to work flexible shifts, including 12-hour rotations.
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
