  • Starting wage for Medical Assistants is $20.00+ per hour

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate Medical Assistant who is passionate about serving vulnerable communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals and the broader St. Petersburg population, in a variety of medical scenarios. While experience in non-profit settings is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical intake procedures, including vital sign assessments and medical history reviews.
  • Document and report patient symptoms, treatment responses, and any changes in condition.
  • Execute physician orders, including lab draws and medication administration.
  • Facilitate prior authorizations and specialist referrals efficiently.
  • Manage patient inquiries and prioritize urgent cases for medical attention.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with professional standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
  • Participate in clinic-related research activities as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant licensure from an accredited institution in Florida.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience, including phlebotomy and injections.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and compliance protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Successful completion of background checks and employment eligibility verification.
