Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Olean, NY. As a leading commercial-industrial HVAC construction company, we require a detail-oriented and motivated individual to collaborate closely with our CFO and contribute to our organization's financial health and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the CFO in preparing monthly and annual financial reports and statements for the executive team.
  • Manage and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the collection process.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual accounting closings.
  • Reconcile general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost monthly.
  • Provide technical accounting support to operations and sales staff with management of service and project contracts.
  • Assist CFO with annual business insurance renewals.
  • Develop, review, and update accounting policies, procedures, checklists, and related documentation concerning assigned functions and responsibilities.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards as related to project financial information.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience in the Construction Industry is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista or other similar ERP accounting software.
  • Possession of professional certification, such as a Certified Public Accountant, is preferred.
