Job Summary:
The School Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the school cafeteria, supervising staff, ordering food and supplies, overseeing food planning, preparation, and service, and performing related work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage school nutrition staff to ensure high-quality food service and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement food service plans, menus, and budgets to meet the needs of students and staff.
- Order and manage food and supply inventory to ensure timely delivery and minimize waste.
- Monitor and maintain food safety and sanitation standards to prevent illness and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition education.
- Manage point-of-sale terminal operations and financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Perform related work as required to ensure the efficient operation of the school cafeteria.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of experience in institutional food service and experience in food service supervision.
- Successful completion of the Supervisor School Nutrition Trainee program.
- ServSafe certification or completion of the Tennessee Department of Education - Food Safety and Schools Certificate Program.
- Associate's degree preferred.
Additional Information:
- This position requires movement to and from locations on a daily and/or weekly basis.
- Internal candidates only.
