Job Description:

  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills in the surgical services department.
  • Provide individualized perioperative care using the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to assess, analyze, and establish goals for patient care.
  • Plan, prepare, and implement care strategies with a focus on establishing priorities of care.
  • Delegate tasks safely and provide safe direct and indirect nursing care.
  • Evaluate responses to interventions and perform nursing functions in accordance with knowledge beyond basic nursing preparation.
  • Direct surgery department staff in the care of surgical patients, caring for patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics.
  • Participate in a 16-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor to learn circulating cases across all service lines.
  • Responsible for general, robotics, neuro, plastics, colorectal, and urology procedures.
  • Availability for on-call duties 57 days per month, including one full weekend of call per month.
