Medical Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Technician to join our team at Christus Health. As a critical care technician, you will play a vital role in providing patient care in our Intensive Care Department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with training, competence, and skill.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment.
- Perform unit clerk/clerical duties, including ordering and maintaining stock items.
- Chart in electronic Health Record as appropriate.
- Perform patient care duties, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, providing patient hygiene, and maintaining clear and respectful communications with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
- Perform clerical duties, including accurately processing the transcription of orders for the patient plan of care.
- Assist clinical staff with admission, transfer, discharge, and returning surgical/post-procedure patients.
- Obtain diagnostic test results from printer/computer/department and immediately provide it to nursing staff.
- Perform quality assurance on charts, verifying that chart forms are filed and labeled correctly, all orders were transcribed correctly, allergies are noted in appropriate places, forms are processed, etc.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Tech (PCT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic certification.
- Previous experience in hospital patient care or an acute-care setting preferred.
